Text & Phrases: Translation is powered by Google ML Kit, which operates directly on your device. Your typed or pasted phrases are processed locally and are never transmitted to our servers.
Translation History & Favorites: Your saved phrases, favorites, and translation history are stored securely and locally on your device's internal storage using a local database (Room/SQLite). You can clear this history anytime within the app or by clearing the app data in your device settings.
Camera / Image Data (OCR): When you use the camera translation feature, the camera stream is processed in real-time on your device to extract text using Google ML Kit. Images are processed ephemerally in RAM and are not saved, recorded, or uploaded to any server.
Microphone / Voice Data: When using the voice translation feature, audio input is captured via your device's built-in speech recognition service to convert speech into text. We do not record, store, or transmit your audio recordings.
c) Information Collected Automatically by Third-Party SDKs
To provide free access to our app and maintain app stability, we integrate third-party services (such as Google AdMob) that may automatically collect certain non-personally identifiable information, including:
Device Identifiers: Google Play Advertising ID, App Set ID, device model, hardware specifications, and OS version.
Network & Approximate Location: Coarse location derived from IP address (used for serving relevant ads).
App Performance & Diagnostics: Crash logs, load times, energy usage, and diagnostic data to ensure app reliability.
Ad Interactions: Impressions, clicks, and interactions with advertisements.
2. Permissions Used by the App
Our app requests minimal permissions strictly necessary for its functionality:
CAMERA: Required only if you use the camera/photo translation (OCR) feature to capture text from images in real-time.
RECORD_AUDIO: Required only if you use the voice input/speech translation feature.
INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required for downloading offline language translation models and loading advertisements via Google AdMob.
You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time through your Android device settings (Settings > Apps > English to Spanish Translator > Permissions).

How to Control Ad Personalization
You can reset your Advertising ID or opt-out of personalized ads at any time via your device settings:
Go to Settings > Google > Ads (or Settings > Privacy > Ads on newer Android versions) and tap "Delete advertising ID" or "Reset advertising ID".
4. Data Security & Retention
Data in Transit: All network communications initiated by integrated SDKs (e.g., Google AdMob) are encrypted in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS / HTTPS).
Local Storage: Because your translation history and favorites remain on your device, you retain full control over your data.
Data Retention: We do not operate external cloud servers storing your personal data. Third-party advertising partners retain diagnostic and ad data according to their own retention schedules.
5. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Our application is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take necessary corrective actions.

Delete Local Data: You can delete all history and saved phrases by using the "Clear History" feature within the app or by clearing the app storage under Android Settings > Apps > English to Spanish Translator > Storage > Clear Data.

How Data is Processed: When you interact with the AI Tutor, your text prompts and practice responses are securely transmitted via encrypted connections (HTTPS) to the AI service provider solely to evaluate grammar, assess fluency, and generate educational responses.
No Storage or Training: We do not link your practice messages to your personal identity, nor do we sell or use your conversational data to train private artificial intelligence models.
AI Disclaimer: Responses in the AI Tutor feature are generated automatically by artificial intelligence for language learning purposes. While designed to be helpful and educational, AI responses may occasionally contain inaccuracies.
